Studio visit with Jodi Jones
The table at today's workshop organised by SE20 Art member Jodi Jones at her studio.
We worked on a drawing exercise, firstly doing a still life...
...then folding up the paper and choosing a section to draw again larger on an A4 sheet.
This is my result.

Ground Breaking
The people behind ‘The Edible
Bus Stop’ project and the ‘Crystal Palace Transition Town’ group embarked on a
new urban garden today in a plot adjacent to the Crystal Palace Bus Station in
South London. The design, based on a triangular pattern, was marked out and a
team of locals got to work with the hard work of digging.
Manure from the farm in the nearby park was loaded up in wheelbarrows ready to add to enrich the soil. The plan is to cover the area in membrane over the winter months ready for planting in the spring. Fruit trees and bushes, hardy herbs and vegetables will fill the area by the summer.
You
can find out more about the project at http://www.crystalpalacetransition.org.uk/
and information on the Edible Bus Stop is at http://www.theediblebusstop.org/

Crystal Palace goes upmarket!
Despite the overcast weather, there was a lovely atmosphere
at the Crystal Palace Food Market today.
Billed as ‘locally sourced, locally sold’ there were a variety of stalls
selling fruit & vegetables, meat, cheese, cakes and a host of takeaway
tasties.
Crystal Palace Food Market is on every Saturday 10am - 3pm
at Haynes Lane, London, SE19 3AP and you can find out more at http://www.crystalpalacefoodmarket.co.uk/

From little acorns...
In a large pot, amongst the strawberry plants, something
else is growing. An acorn found on a
walk, is now starting to sprout into an oak tree.

Rio de Penge
I was inspired to produce these images by the news that the Brazilian athletes are to do their last minute training for the Olympics at the National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace Park.
It’ll be great to have them here, although I hope they won’t mind the weather!
The original drawings were made in coloured pencil, scanned and adjusted in Photoshop.
