The view from the 32nd floor

Fantastic afternoon out with some of the London Urban Sketchers where we had the opportunity to draw from the 32nd floor of a city skyscraper.
I had a quick go at trying to capture the view of St Paul's as the night set in.
Last drawing of the day - is it the Shard? A Christmas tree?  The Cookie monster?  You decide!

Deck the walls

I've been putting work up today at Venue 28 in Beckenham.  It always takes much longer than I think!

A bit of a do

People this evening at an event celebrating the food growing projects in Clapham.
Below an attempt at capturing Pam Warhurst as she made a short speech.  Founder of the 'Incredible Edible' movement, you can see a great TED talk from her here

Attempting a 'Google Doodle'

I've been doing lots of drawings over the past couple of months of the Croydon Saffron Central project, including a little animated drawing so thought I'd have a go at doing at 'Google Doodle'.

Picking saffron

The crop at 'Croydon Saffron Central' is ready to be harvested.  Taking the saffron strands from the centre of each crocus flower requires patience and the pickers use tweezers, placing the collected strands in small glass jars.  The saffron is then dried offsite.

Borough Market sketches

Drawings from yesterday's meet up with London Urban Sketchers at a very busy Borough Market.  The little building in the centre of the top drawing is the Globe Tavern, which seems to be under development at the moment but was one of the locations used in the 'Bridget Jones' films.
