I'm not a great one for gadgets but this new light pad is brilliant and so much easier to use than a traditional light box.

Snow dogs by the sea

Started putting down some ideas today for the 'Snow dogs by the sea' project happening in Brighton later this year.  The organisers are looking for designs to decorate large dog shaped sculptures which will be placed around the town.

Top Drawer potter

I visited the 'Top Drawer' trade show this week and amongst the exhibitors was Keith Brymer Jones, one of the judges from 'The Great Pottery Throw Down', making throwing pots look incredibly easy! 

Workshop

I took part in a workshop today looking at ways to transfer images.

The first used sticky tape.

Tape was stuck over the image and smoothed out.

Then the paper was washed off the back of the tape.

The tape was then dried and then stuck down on paper or card.

An example on paper.

The technique worked well on glass.

Another method used nail polish remover on the back of photocopied images.

This produced interesting results both on the print and the original.
