Phoenix rising

This is a Phoenix sculpture by Hale Man, currently 'caged' in her studio in the Whitgift Centre in Croydon.  There are plans to parade the sculpture through the streets of Croydon to celebrate Chinese New Year in February 2016.  The artwork will then be displayed at the Fairfield Halls for 6 months.

Wintery sun

The view from the 32nd floor

Fantastic afternoon out with some of the London Urban Sketchers where we had the opportunity to draw from the 32nd floor of a city skyscraper.

 I had a quick go at trying to capture the view of St Paul's as the night set in.

Last drawing of the day - is it the Shard? A Christmas tree?  The Cookie monster?  You decide!
